ASPENSI Has Collaborated with Indonesia Open University in Managing the Journals of EDUCARE and SOSIOHUMANIKA

Minda Masagi Press, as a publisher owned by ASPENSI (the Association of Indonesian Scholars of History Education), has collaborated with UT (Indonesia Open University) Jakarta in managing the scholarly journals of EDUCARE and SOSIOHUMANIKA, starting issue of February and May in 2015. The MoA (Memorandum of Agreement) between both sides (ASPENSI and UT) has also been signed on Tuesday, 2nd September 2014, at one of the offices of UT Jakarta.

According to Dr. Effendi Wahyono, a senior lecturer at UT Jakarta, his higher education institution wants to have the scholarly journals not only accredited by Ditjendikti Kemdikbud RI (Directorate-General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia), but also it can be published regularly. UT itself, Effendi added, has had four scholarly journals, but due to lack of the editors whose concern to manage the journals caused it cannot be published regularly; and authomatically it will also not be accredited by Ditjendikti Kemdikbud RI.

“Hopefully, by joining with ASPENSI, UT Jakarta is able to learn more about how to manage the scholarly journals”, Effendi said.

Professional editors are needed to manage the journals; the capitals are also important to budget the journals in order it can be published; and the articles that come from other institutions and countries around the world are very critical to show the quality of the scholarly journals.

“I think ASPENSI just has had the Editors who concern and professional in managing the journal. Certainly, ASPENSI still needs to collaborate with other institutions to get the capitals and articles in order the scholarly journals can be published”, Andi added.

As we know that Minda Masagi Press, until now, has been successfully publishing five scholarly journals and all has been joining publication with other institutions, such as:
