ASPENSI’s International Conference, concerning on History and History Education, that previously being scheduled in Bandung, West Java, to change and move to Makassar in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. The time of conference doesn’t change, still on May 19-21, 2013.
According to Anzar, this change is based on request from UVRI (Veteran University of the Republic of Indonesia) in Makassar via her Rector, Dr Haji Syamsu A. Kamaruddin.
“As we know that ASPENSI has had collaboration with UVRI, especially in joint publication of TAWARIKH journal”, Anzar said. He also adds that UVRI has had Study Program of History Education at the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training, so that this conference is still relevance with its themes as well as institutions.
Although the conference will be held in the next year, Anzar said, it is good ideas for planning and organizing in order all is running well. According to Anzar, there are some keynote speakers who are ready to participate in the conference. They are coming from Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Japan, United Kingdom, and Australia. From Indonesia also there is some Prof Dr want to participate in the conference.
“This is our pleasure to welcome the participants as well as the presenters who have interested in to participate in our international conference”, Anzar said proudly. You are invited to join an International Conference on History and History Education. The theme of conference is “the Roles of History and History Education in Enhancing the Nation-States’ Identities and Characters”. The conference will be held in Makassar, South Sulawesi, Indonesia, on 19-21 May 2013.
The participants as well as the presenters hopefully not only come from Indonesia but also come from Southeast Asian country and around the World.
This conference will focus on the latest information about History and History Education in general. But many sub-topics will serve as the framework for discussions involving History and History Education, such as: (1) Content of History; (2) Teaching and Learning in History; (3) Media, Book, and ICT for History and History Education; (4) Reflection and Evaluation in History and History Education; and (5) Historians, History Teachers, and Government Officials Related to Enhance the Nation-States’ Identities and Characters.
Accordingly, I’d like to invite you to submit the full paper, including Abstract, circa 15-25 pages. The papers will be reviewed by Expert Committee and the selected papers are going to be published in the new scientific journal concerning on history and history educational matters, SUSURGALUR: Jurnal Kajian Sejarah & Pendidikan Sejarah, that will be launched on the Conference Opening Ceremony. Meanwhile, the other papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings.
The papers can be written in English as well as in Indonesian and Malay languages. The sub-topics of Conference are as follows: (1) Content of History; (2) Teaching and Learning in History; (3) Media, Book, and ICT for History and History Education; (4) Reflection and Evaluation in History and History Education; and (5) Historians, History Teachers, and Government Officials Related to Enhance the Nation-States’ Identities and Characters.
Important dates: (1) August 17, 2012 is deadline for full paper submission; (2) October 28, 2012 is notification of acceptance whether the full paper submissions will be published in scientific journal or proceedings book forms; and (3) May 19-21, 213 is Conference Dates.
